Lists

If you’ve had a stressful day or don’t have a lot of time, try writing lists. Lists of things that make you happy, things you’re grateful for, of ways you were blessed that day, the LIST goes on! (See what we did there?)

Keep It Short

You don’t have to write down every little detail that happened to you that day. A simple paragraph or couple of sentences of the days highlights will do the trick!

Treat Journaling As A Way To Relax

Use journaling to calm you. Light a candle, play some relaxing music and let your thoughts flow.

Free Write

We know it may sound weird but if you can’t think of what to write… FREE WRITE. Free writing is jotting down WHATEVER pops into your head. Just record your thoughts as you have them, and remember, journaling doesn’t have to be perfect. We love this quote, “If I waited for perfection, I would never write a word.”

Destress

Journaling can be a GREAT de-stressing tool. For example, if you’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed write down all the reasons WHY. Let it flow. The minute you write down all of those things, close your journal. The next day, come back to them with some rest and a possible new perspective.
