We know that many of you have been doing all you can to keep your kids entertained while social distancing. So, to help you out, we’ve created a list of fun things you can do with your kids without having to leave your house. Try them out and let us know your faves!
Grab a dice and a piece of paper. Write down numbers 1-6 and assign an exercise to each number. For example, 1 can be jumping jacks, 2 can be a 60 second dance break and so forth. Roll the dice and complete the exercise assigned to the number. Fun right?
Every day, put the names of your family members in a bowl. Draw names and complete an act of kindness for that person. Spread a little love while social distancing!
Write down riddles, clues, or questions and hide them throughout the house. The clues can be related to homework your kids have been doing (you SMART mom), family trivia etc. This activity will keep your kids moving and their minds working!
For a fun family lunch, try having a picnic INSIDE! Have your kids help pack their lunches. Then, set up a blanket where you have the most room in your house and there you have it! A fun inside picnic!
Another fun activity to do with your kids is making Jello shapes. Make a pan of Jello and have your kids use cookie-cutters to cut out fun shapes to play with… and eat!
Bake a cake, or cupcakes, with your kids. Make some icing and have them decorate their sweet treat. Best decorating wins a prize!
Here is one of our Fave Tasty Tuesday Cupcake Recipes (It was for Halloween but the recipe works ANY time of year!)
Pull some old clothes out and have your kids style their own outfits. Turn on some music and have a fashion show!
During some downtime, have your kids call a friend or family member to check on them and send them some love!
A memory you will have for a lifetime! Look through TikTok to get inspiration and create your own Family TikTok video!
To wind down, make some popcorn, order a pizza (try ordering from a local business), grab some candy and have a movie night!
Creating an obstacle course indoors or in your backyard is a great way to keep your kids moving and entertained. You can even include chores with this activity. For example, sweep the floor, then dance for 30 seconds, wipe the counter tops… you get the picture!
Make some sweet treats and popcorn, build a fort and have a reading day with your kids!
