We love pickleball because it’s competitive, fun, and pretty easy to pick up. We’ve put together five tips for beginners, so you can seriously impress your pickleball date and look like a pro!
FIVE TIPS TO SLAY:
Just get the ball in the box! Sometimes all you can focus on is making sure the ball stays in bounds. You don’t need a fancy move every time.
Surprise your opponent with this pro move: dink the ball from the kitchen line so it lands close to the net on the opposite side. They won’t know what hit them!
It might be tempting to stay close to the net when anticipating a serve from your opponent. To play like a pro, take a step back behind the line when returning a serve, and hit it deep.
Rather than staying to one side of the court, mirror the movements of your opponent. This way, you can keep an eye on their every move, and won’t be caught off guard as easily.
You’ve got to focus! Don’t get too distracted by conversation or planning out moves. Just get into the flow of the game, and be ready for the ball.
BONUS TIP: If you want to show off with a sneaky move, hit the ball at your opponent’s feet. Guaranteed points every time!
