Here in the Albion office our team is constantly inspiring us with their meal prep skills. With healthy lunches and snacks on-hand, it’s easy to make positive food choices! So we’ve put together 3 of our favorite, easy and healthy, meal prep snacks to pack for work. These healthy snack ideas are so easy to assemble and prepare ahead of time or even when you’re running out the door. With just a few ingredients, you can have a satisfying and filling snack that will be nutritious and delicious!
1. On The Go Mason Jar Parfait
We love using a mason jar to store this delicious and healthy parfait recipe in. It allows us to layer the ingredients to ensure that everything is as fresh as possible when we’re ready to snack as well as easily transport to and from work.
Berries of choice (we love strawberries and black berries)
Chop your berries as needed. We like to slice the strawberries into quarters, but any other berries we leave as-is. Drizzle about 1 tbsp of honey along the inside of the mason jar. Place ½ cup of berries at the bottom of the jar, then add ½ cup of greek yogurt. Top the yogurt with ¼ cup of granola, then secure the mason jar lid.
2. Mediterranean Snack With Hummus
This delicious snack idea is a great way to get some of your veggies and fats in for the day! While savory and delicious, you can easily add some sweetness to this snack by topping your hummus with pomegranate seeds. We used a gluten free nut cracker to make this the perfect snack option for those with gluten allergies! Bonus: It’s also dairy free!
⅓ cup Hummus
In a reusable to-go container, place ⅓ cup of hummus in the center. Wash and chop your veggies as needed, we love making them small enough for easy snacking! Place your veggies and crackers around the hummus. Feel free to use as many vegetables as you like to fill the space! Secure with a lid and off you go!
3. Protein Packed Snack Idea
If you’re looking for an easy way to add some protein to your diet, then this take-to-work snack idea is for you! With protein, fats, and fruit, it’s a well-balanced snack that will keep you full and focused. For a vegetarian option, simply swap out the meat for some nuts!
½ Sliced Apple
1 Laughing Cow Cheese
½ Slice of Pita Bread
Sliced Cheese of choice
Line a reusable to-go container with your sliced salami, apple, and pita bread. Fill the remaining space with the laughing cow cheese and cheese slices. Mix and match your pairings by building mini sandwiches or dipping your snacks into the laughing cow cheese. It’s like a more sophisticated, grown-up lunchable!
